New member, new to RV'ing
Hello RV'ers,
I have recently decided to do a solo trek across America for a few weeks - maybe (much) longer.

Why don't you tell us a little more about your RV and what your plans are.

Well, I'd love to tell everyone about my RV, but the fact is, I'm stuck! I don't know what to get!
I've done a three-week rental in one of those Ford E450's and I loved it, so now that I'm retired I want to live in the road. Plus, I'm only 7 states away from seeing all 50.
I've searched thousands of popups and tow trailers and I just don't know which one is best for me.
So for now, I'm driving solo (with my Pug) from Los Angeles to Maine (and New Hampshire and Vermont) and looking for a good deal on a used trailer that I can easily tow behind my F150.
I hope to meet many RVers along the way. Can I stay a member even though I don't own an RV yet?

Personally if I were to try to do what you are talking about and getting something to tow behind an F-150, I would go as small as I would be comfortable in. I was recently at a state park campground and visited with a guy doing something similar using a Honda Pilot SUV as the tow vehicle and an expandable teardrop trailer with a large semi-enclosed canopy outdoor room. I don't recall the model, but it was modern teardrop concept in bright vibrant blue and silver colors.
p.s. if money is no object take a look at the Alto Safari line of small trailers

Thank you for this information. I have been struggling with the whole trailer size thing. The problem is, used 25'-plus trailers are cheaper than those cute little teardrop jobs.
I appreciate your comments.

While this is true, ease of towing and even fuel economy become bigger factors when looking at thousands of miles worth of driving. Saving just a couple of cents per mile in fuel cost over 10,000 mile trip is significant. Then there is the mental side to it.

You're exactly right - something I came to realize after giving it some serious time and thought.
