I'm new to the forum, but I've found lots of answers here over the years. I'm on my third RV. The two previous ones were gassers: A 36' Pace Arrow on a Chevy chassis and a 36.5' Winnebago on a Ford chassis. My new machine is a 39.5' Newmar Kountry Star FRED with a 5.9 12V Cummins and an Allison MT542. It also has a Banks Stinger turbo upgrade. It's a pretty good starting point. The body, frame, engine, and trans are in pretty good shape, and the overall condition is fairly nice considering its age. It's already been on a 5,000 mile cross-country trip, and my only complaint is that there isn't enough power to keep it above 70 MPH or so, but I suspect that's primarily the fault of the transmission. With that in mind, you'll see my next post on the Allison sub-forum.
