New Member / Older Coach

Glad to be here! After reading a handful of posts I know I am in the right place.

I am retired and once I finish some home tasks it's time for the road. (like those are ever finished)

To that end I chose a '02 Monaco Windsor 34ft 350hp coach with 3 slides.

I named her JellyBean.

Love the name "Jeeybean" wow a Class A. I'm wondering two things. What kind of camping you would like to do? Turing or finding and RV park to run off to for a while with like minded campers?

Whatever you do this is by far the best RV fourm on the web. Check out this forum and you will see what I mean. Lots of good well informed owners and experts.

Enjoy Happy Trails.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Being my first RV I haven't experienced which camping style will suit the traveling bug I have.
This coach has previously been used for dry camping so that increases the options available. I got lucky in that regard. Six panels putting out 730amps; if I remember correctly.
I'm thinking about picking a destination then seeing the most, within reason, along the way with no strict time line.

P.S. Just to add I love this coach! Coming home was close to 900 miles and she far exceeded my expectations; mountains, hills, freeway, city and narrow back roads. What a surprise to find my first journey netted 8mpg....

Jellybean is also the name of a 100' + yacht on the west coast owned by the owner of the company that make the Pelican cases.

That's a beautiful coach! Looks like new! Where did you buy her and where are you now? BTW, do you know how to add a signature line where you can put your coach info etc.? Your coach is newer than mine; and prettyer!

Here's a map of my return journey after my purchase in Wenatchee, Washington. The over the mountain top between Weed, Ca (I-5) and Trinity Center (HWY 3) was a travel thru the wilderness.... My friend who lives there said he found it hard to believe I chose that route. Forest Rte 42N17 or Gazelle Callahan rd. (Not for the faint of heart)

I felt confidant in this coach and she took it in stride! My first RV; yessiree.

Trip Link

Gazelle rd.

I attempted to add a signature.... `

So you apparantly bought the coach in Washington State, and you live in Cali. What are your future travel plans? And is a toad in your future as well? We recently started "toading" our 2016 Prius using a tow dolly because Prius' can't be towed 4 down. So far, it's working out well. Don't even know the toad's back there unless I look at the backup cam.

Well, Glad I'm not 100ft! 34' is just right for me. I drag tail coming down the driveway....
I hadn't planned on it but after this week I might change my mind.
Plans change... I went from putting on a new roof to packing for evacuation! Out the door without a blanket? Yep! That's planning in my world.

I just want to see as much of the "good" stuff before it's gone. Wasn't a thought last year. Yes, the wrong exit might be a problem but now? Adventures into the unknown....

So My first splash into the world of RV Parks (sort of) has landed me with refugees from a forest fire the likes of which California has never seen before; so they say.
Got VERY lucky and have elect & water. Parked near the bathroom but a long walk to the food and supply's that have been graciously donated!!!
We are all neighbors with the same thing in common; survival. All hoping our homes will be intact. Young & Old from tents to RV's; equal.

Learning a lot! Making notes as to what is needed and where to put things. or Really WHERE did I put this or that...

I feel so lucky to have bought JellyBean when I did! ~ Go Figure...

California Burning...

1Can't imagine what it must be like to be forced to evacuate with little notice and no chance to stock up on food/supplies. It's a good thing that "JellyBean" is providing you with a roof over your head! Sorry for your trevails. Here in Texas, even in Waco, we're having to prepare for the 2 hurricanes, Marco and Laura. My prep consists of getting my MH from the shop and bringing to my storage facility where it will be under cover.
