We sold our boat and got a trailer. Our F150 doesn't have a tow package so we were limited to 5000 lbs, but we really wanted an oven, so we looked and looked and found a Chalet Takena 1860 that has an oven. Due to conflicting work schedules this spring, we've been heading out friday night to local area campgrounds, then saturday she drives into work for the day. When she gets back, dinner is ready, in this case dutch oven pork spare ribs.

Welcome, Gary. We had to give up the lifestyle after last season - just too expensive on a SS budget. We had an '03 Georgetown Class A.

Glad to see you found a trailer that your truck could legally handle. A UK relative of ours used to tow an 18' coach-built (pronounced "heavy") TT with a 55 hp, 1.5 liter Austin Cambridge sedan. They ran that rig all over Europe for about 18 years without a mishap. Sure, it was slow in the Swiss Alps, but they enjoyed it.

Hi. You sound like us...former boaters. With land camping you don't have to worry so much about weather conditions. No fear of dragging an anchor when you are sleeping. And campfires are so nice. Yes, we do miss some aspects of boating, but we are enjoying the many campgrounds to explore. Have fun.
