New member profile
I may be posting a new member profile in the wrong place. Please excuse my ignorance, I am retired, and am an intermediate computer novice that has had little training or community support to learn computerize. Frustration is the best word that comes to mind. That said, I will wait for some reply from someone.
A little general info is: I have owned two motor homes, the last being a 1983 Bluebird FC 35. I am now prepping to go full time again, (full time, for 2 years) and so, am now researching which MO HO to go. I prefer old birds, they are solid bus and no BS. I will jump off now, looking for under 40' coaches.
This weeks attention is on BB PT 36 non tandem axle. I think the last year produced was 1991 or ? The draw back, to me, is the 300 Cat Turbo. The 3208 throwaway is a good engine, but is under powered for a 30-34 ton vehicle, especially pulling a toad.
Had a 250 cat turbo in my FC, And a 4 speed Allison That was sufficient enough to cruise just over 60 mph. Mountain passes, and long hills, got my pyrometer in a tizzy. Pulling California's 'Grape vine' pass in low gear required a non scheduled rest on a escape run away exit. Well, I digress, and hope I don't receive wrath from other well informed computer user. Thanks Thom

Welcome and good luck with your search and purchase.
IMO you could consider a bunch of different brands for your two year sojourn. As long as you get something comfortable and buy at the right price you will be golden. There are lots of quality rigs produced in the late 80's, early 09's that will perform well for you.

Love seeing the old 'Buses' rolling down the hiway .... reminds me of the good ole rock & roll days when those ole cruisers were all painted up and have a certain 'class' about em ... Glad to see there are still folks that appreciate them ............
and if you your needin help getting around the forum, just post up your question in the General Conversation section .... or even right here.... I'm certain there will be plenty of folks ready to help out ..........
