Bodega Bay has 2 Parks with full hook ups, lots to see and do in the area. Olema is nice but pricy. Duck Island in Rio Vista is a nice weekend location. Benbow has a RV Park. Lots of places to stay up North in the redwoods.

Makes me feel better! I was worried about buying an older rig but it's in great shape and checked out nicely. Just heard from the mechanic, he has a customer who wants to sell their folding flat tow equipment cheap. Everything seems meant to be.

There are all sorts of places you can go but I would suggest someplace fairly close your first few times out.
One of those places might be the Manchester Beach/Mendocino KOA. You can have full hookups while you get used to the rig. Another place north of there is Pomo campground near Ft Bragg.
You can head south towards Santa Cruz for a few other spots also.
Pacifica has a high dollar parking lot for a campground but it is right on the ocean.
I willadd to this later, but you may also tell us how far you want to drive and what type of environment you enjoy.
Again...congrats to you!

Thanks! I'm familiar with many of those places and appreciate all the input.

Thanks! Bodega Bay is a little too close to home, doesn't feel like "getting out of town". Lol. I've been to Duck Island, it's nice (I had only scouted a few places in preparation for renting one so don't know if it's nice or nice compared to what I've seen) but windy! Benbow is on the list for sure.
Access to fishing is definitely one of our preferences. Even better if we don't need to hop in the jeep.

A couple of outings close to home with a new rig is highly recommended, at least by me.

I'll likely take that advice. My time off schedule probably only allows for short trips in the next couple of months. Much appreciated.

Glad to have you here with us.
I like your attitude of diving into the "deep end". If you want to go away for a three day stay find a CG that has a store (not all of them do) because you will forget something.
Keep notes in a notebook on how all the systems on your MH work. If you're not going to use it a lot you will tend to forget how something operates.
Most important...Have fun!!!
Best of luck and Happy Trails!!!
