New member taking two month RV sabbatical
We just turned 50 so we decided to take a two month sabbatical this coming summer to tour the country in our newly ordered 2014 Palazzo motor home. We grew up RVing and have owned a travel trailer for the last ten years but we're looking for new RV adventures. What advice do you have for our family of six? Our kids are aged from 13 to 22. Welcome!
In two months you could take in several great places. Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse, Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, etc. Just remember to stop and smell the roses along the way.
I would recommend driving to a nice park, stay for a week and either rent a car or pull a toad to travel around to all the sights in that area.
If you use your two months traveling, versus staying in one place and taking day trips, you may find it to be more of a grind that a vacation.

Maybe take a trip or two locally to work out the kinks that seem to come with new units?

Welcome aboard and glad you joined us. I don't think your crazy at all about the trip you are planning. Take your time and plan the places you would like to visit. Only you know what your interest are and what your kids mike like to see. There are plenty of resources to google or even here on the forum under "RV Camping Forums" you can search or post as many questions as you like. Good Luck and hope you have a GREAT time.

I like throwing caution to the wind, having an idea yet no solid plans, if thats your style it is of course tons of fun yet can be a bit of a crap shoot. Be safe, don't get in a hurry, if you find yourselves saying "I wish we would have", then you probably should have. Some of our best times didn't start out as best times. Be safe and get going! Oh, give the kids some say so too in where you go and what you do, that would likely ensure good times and lots of fun!

Welcome aboard! We have been across the USA now 6 times and usually average 8000 miles each trip. Tonight we are in Williams AZ in a park that we have stayed at three times before. If you stay here you can take the Grand Canyon train from town right into the Canyon, stay the day and return that evening into Williams. Williams is right on I 40. Lots to see out here in the SW as in all places in the good old USA. The Canyon is just one of the great sites that should be on your bucket list. Whatever you choose to do, do it while the kids are still home as they grow up quickly and move on with their lives.
