New member with Roadtrek Simplity questions

I recently purchased a used 2019 Roadtrek Simplicity SRT. It had no user manuals, but I was able to obtain the 2017 Dodge Ram ProMaster manual for the car portion of my RV. I download a 2019 Roadtrek Simplicity owners manual from the Web, but it "doesn't exactly" match what I have. For example, all the pictures of the control panel over the side door is not the same as my control panel, plus I am finding several "differences" in the manual compared to what is actually in my RV. So I have a few questions to throw out there to see if anyone can help.

1. The online manual I found says the water heater is "instant on" so there is no switch. HOWEVER, my control panel HAS a big red Water Heater switch! Does this mean I have a water heater WITH a tank and NOT an instant-on unit? I am trying to understand if I have a tank that needs to be drained, etc. for winterizing, and then, how to do that.

2. There is an "Inverter" switch on my control panel. I am a retired IBM mainframe engineer, so I understand the differences of an inverter from a converter. And I understand turning the Inverter switch ON to get 12v DC turned into 120v AC for the electrical outlets, BUT I was reading and some say that you NEED to turn on the inverter switch so that the house battery charges. I understand to enable the Battery Disconnect switch so that the house battery can charge, but is turning on the "Inverter" switch ALSO "required" to charge the house battery?

Thank you for any help or pointers to any links to me help with these issues.

Welcome to the forum and and congrats on the new coach.

Did not the seller give you any kind of "walk through"? Can you contact them for some info.

There are lots of folks here with good info to share. You might want to look at the Class B thread here as a place to get info as well as ask questions. Class B Motorhome Discussions - iRV2 Forums

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!

Congrats on the new rig! I'm not familiar with your rig so can't help with the questions. Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
