Post New Members, Alaskans

I have been an avid reader for many years but this Friday we retire so in celebration we joined! We are on our second motorhome and searching for a third. I have stuck with Allegro for the first two, a gas and a diesel, 36 and 33 foot and have a few favorites...ok a lot of favorites. I think a Newmar is out front right now but who knows when the time comes and all the stars align and Alaska shares it's Northern Lights on a moonless night.
We are based in Big Lake Alaska and I worked the oil fields and then the local telephone company where they are really ticked that we are able to retire early and 'roam'!
My wife and I were both born in Alaska so we like to roam South and seek warmer winters. My Dad was a diesel mechanic and I am NOT but I am on my second diesel suburban, diesel Bug and front end diesel motorhome...next I graduate to a rear end diesel or maybe that mid ship Spartan...used...always used, can't afford new iron!

Congrats on your retirement from two other Alaskans - we're just displaced and living in Colorado now, after decades in the Greatland. Enjoy!

Alaskans I'm jealous. We've vacationed there twice and I loved each day there and cherish each memory. It is a dream of mine to go back there with the MH....Maybe when DH retires....

mufasa:

G'morning from Rapid City, South Dakota and a GREAT BIG WELCOME to the iRV2 bunch.

We (wife and I) too have visited your beautiful state and like others, sure want to return someday. What a wonderful place to live !! Although,..... it seems the older we get the more attractive those warm climates are so winter now-a-days will find us somewhere down South (Florida, Texas, or Arizona). We live full time in our Newmar rig along with 3 cats and sure enjoy this lifestyle.

Hope to run into you guys somewhere down the road, and, again,....WELCOME.

Steve & Lynette

Thank you all for the nice welcomes!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! Two more days to retire-the excitement is building and I AM going to put my motorhome up for sale. The research and hunt is on for the new one with a little more power, room and 'stuff'! My wife is more excited about it than I have seen her in a long time! :-) Makes me HAPPY!

Happy motoring to all, it is great hearing all the opinions on brands, motors, tag axles and all the other choices-Great site. I am sure when the time is right we will find our next coach for the next phase of our life! You guys have a lot of fun!

Gary and Janice
