Greetings all,

My wife and I have never gone RVing before, but have jumped in with both pairs of feet just to see what happens next.
Last November we started haunting the nearby RV dealerships and decided that we wanted a 30' bumper-pull TT. The ones we liked all weighed in around 9000 lbs which was right at the limit our 2014 Ram 1500 4X4 could tow. After some quick deliberation, I traded in the 1500 for a 2016 Ram 2500 4X4 with a 6.4 hemi so we could easily tow whatever bumper-pull we chose.
On Dec 9th my wife had to work, but gave me her blessing to go 50 miles to Ancira RV in Boerne TX to make a deal on a bumper-pull. That's when things took an awkward hop. As I was walking through the dealer's lot, I spotted a Chaparral 336TSIK fifth wheel, and made the mistake of going inside. It was love at first sight, so I bought it. It weighs 12,000 lbs loaded, so I'm right back to maxing out our new truck's towing limits.
We've had the trailer seven weeks now, and have spent all but three nights in it. The first couple of weeks were spent in an RV park while I prepared a spot for it on our property, now it is 30 feet from our house. When my wife retires this summer, we're hittin' the road!
