Post New RVer's from Fallon, Nevada

Thought I/we should check-in while here.

I am 66 retired Army and considering retiring completely.

Wife will be 60 in July and is on disability.

We are both considering to start rv'ing in our new 2014 A.C.E 29.2, purchased in January, pretty darn quick. Have a trip planned in June to the Grand Canyon.

Hoping all of our issue with the motor home will be corrected by then. Already had to replace the coach batteries and still dealing with the battery manufacture since the middle part of February for a refund they said we will get. Sure have heard some zanny rational as to why we shouldn't.

Now as mysteriously, the bedroom lights and the exterior shower compartment light stay very dim or completely out. I am not very savy with wiring (yet), but other than testing voltage at simple locations, I am lost. Anyone else have, or had, a similar problem?

Welcome to the gang, Top Sarge! Thanks for your years of service; it means a lot. Sorry you are having issues with your new wheels. I'm not any help with electrical stuff. I don't recall anyone posting this yet: the menus at the top offer an option for "Owners Forums" and there's a selection for Thor Industries. You might try posting there or use one of the search options in the top right part of most screens. There are a lot of nice folks here who offered us a lot of help since we joined. Hope you get it all worked out in time for the Grand Canyon trip in June.

Sarge

Glad to have you here.

If you are getting a dim light with the switch in the off position you are getting feedback from another source.

First Sarge, Thanks for your service. Second, thanks for your service again.

Welcome to the Forum. My wife and I just recently started fulltiming. Sold the house and decided to fulltime. We love it so far and have started to plan some nice trips, but first up to Syracuse, NY to visit the kids and grandkids. Then look out world (well just the USA, for now).

Happy RVing Sarge and your DW.

Thumbs up Thanks

I wish to thank everyone for their responses.

First, I moved to Fallon in '65 with my folks, enlisted in '66 and returned in '94.

Second, thanks to the good advice. I contacted Thor about my light issue and I am working on the hopeful possibility of a fix.

Lastly, thanks to all of the good wishes. I know we will enjoy and already have an eye towards full-timing as soon as we take a couple of baby steps.

Once again, thank you for the friendly responses for these newbies.

Fallon is a pretty good place to start from with your adventures into full timing. Lots of great western country side to explore within a few days travel! My brother is a rancher out in Stillwater, and he just recently retired too. I know he's really looking forward to 'sort of' full timing it now that he's leased out the ranch. LOL

I still miss those big blue skies of the Silver State!

Hope you and your dear lady enjoy this next phase of life, you've definitely earned every moment!

Cheers!
