New RVers-Ron & Cathy
Hello all! Well, we are both retired, had a 30 ft travel trailer for a few years back when we were both working. We enjoyed it, but had no time to use it and no place to keep it, so we sold it in 1998. We currently have 3 dogs who live in the house, and are treated better than any kids (we have none) would be. Recently we decided we wanted to try RVing again, so we just purchased a used Class A motorhome from a couple in the same situation we had been in back in 1998. It's a 2000 Monaco Diplomat 36B, class a diesel pusher with 1 slide out. Since we've never owned a Motorhome of any kind or anything powered by a diesel engine, we've got a lot to learn. It came with everything still in it, which is most of the stuff we need to get started, but man, have we got a lot to learn. One of the first things I need to do is find manuals. There is a photocopy of part of an Owners manual, but not enough to be of much use, and nothing pertaining to engine (cummins ISB 24 valve turbo diesel-275 hp), transmission (allison 6 speen auto), chassis (Roadmaster), generator (Onan 7500 diesel), refrigerator, A/C, etc., etc. Everything seems to be in good working order at the moment. I'd like to do as much of my own maintenance as possible, but at this point, I've got no idea what I need to know, so any and all advice is welcome.

Hi Ron & Cathy! Welcome to IRV2! Sure happy to have you join the group here! Congrats on the new Monaco! We just bought ours about two weeks ago and are still trying to figure out all the complex systems it has on it! Fortunately, ours had all the manuals so that helps a lot! The Monaco owner's forum here has a lot of good information so I will be spending a LOT of time there! Have fun & God bless!

Welcome back to RVing. I hope you have a long and fun experience. Several years ago, we bought a (gently ) used trailer, without all the manuals. The dealer that we bought it from was very helpful, but we also found that if you go on the company websites for the different products (microwave, fridge, etc.) there are manuals that can be downloaded for all the appliances and such.
