Happy New Year Everyone!
In April 2018 my wife and I decided I would quite my job, sell the house and everything, buy an RV, go full time, and travel the country while I write the great American novel. She'll continue to health coach as she has a lot of flexibility (she does consultations over the phone).
It's been quite an adventure already because we had never owned an RV or even been camping. After a
ton of research (iRV2 helped a lot), we picked up our 2019 Newmar Ventana 4369 at the factory in Nappanee, IN October 22-26, drove to Wentzville, MO to have a towing system installed, back to Nappanee for warranty work, over to Lancaster, PA to have a water softener and reverse osmosis unit installed then to Fredericksburg, VA to finish downsizing and selling the house while I worked till the end of the year. Oh and we took a driving lesson in Richmond. This was after 2300 miles and not a little white knuckling during high winds, in rain, going through toll booths, backing into campsites at night, driving in snow, etc.
We've been in the Fredericksburg, Ashland, VA area with occasional trips to MD while downsizing and having additional warranty work done. Soon we'll head to FL then to AZ for the rest of the winter.
Still climbing the steep learning curve and have had a couple of head smackers (both physically under the slideouts and metaphorically through "discovery"
).
Today's my 3rd day of "retirement". Feels like a long needed vacation that hasn't really started yet.
