Hey firedogs2! Glad you joined us here.
Feel free to ask questions, but also take a look around. Many of the things you might ask have already been discussed. And check around the Monaco owners forum for copmmnets on the Cheetah (a Monaco product).

Hello Firedogs and welcome. Is the answer Dalmatian? I have a 2005 Safari Cheetah 38PDQ, are you currently looking at a particular Cheetah 40PBT? There are a few things you should look for. Again welcome this is a great place and people will help wherever and whenever they can.

Thanks for the welcome
Thanks for the quick welcomes!!! Yep, they are Dalmatians. I had to buy the MH so they could be with me all the time. I got tired of motels - never knew whose dirt I was sleeping in. Now I know - it's ours!!!
My biggest question right now has to do with fogged window on the driver's side of the Cheetah. We have been quoted $1900 to replace the whole unit, but I think that is outrageous.
I need to become acquainted with this forum and will try to find info re the window problem as I do so.
Thanks again.

I do not have any knowledge about the window. You will however, probably need to have the Trailing Arms replaced and the cost is about $3,000.00 Do a search on Trailing Arms and you will find a thread. Read the entire thread and you can get an idea. It is not a maybe proposition, they will or have failed. Do not be fooled by a simple visual inspection in hopes of getting by. Many have tried and it has ended in very expensive repairs. In one case, the axle came off and went into the tranny and engine. I understand the damage was over $25K.
The one nice thing about the majority of the Safari's, is that they were shipped with an upgraded suspension. This is an upgrade that people with non-Safari RR4R Chassis are putting on their MHs to make the ride acceptable/good.
I have seen threads on Driver window replacements, do a search on that as well, I agree that $1,900.00 seems like a lot, but most things on a MH are.

Guess I misled some. I am already a part owner of a 2005 Safari Cheetah; that's why I joined the Monaco group. I also have the Jayco Melbourne. Double the fun; double the questions!!

BEAGLES!!!!! LOL! Just kidding
Welcome Aboard Firedogs2!! You found a great site with a ton of friendly folk with decades of experience to share!
I know what you mean, about your dogs and hotels. That is the exact same reason that I got my TT. Was tired of dragging me and them to the hotels and wanted my own 'home' to sleep in. Never thought that I would love it so much!
Post often, we love to read them
