New here but not to camping/rving. We tent camped for a few years and bought a Forest River pop-up in 2008. We've drug it as far as a 10 day trip to New Orleans and Biloxi area. 5 humans and 2 dogs in a RAM 1500 crew cab...everyone made it back alive.
Last March we moved up to the bigger leagues and bought a new to us 2016 Springdale SG271RL. Didn't take long (2 trips to be precise) to realize we needed more truck so this year we purchased a shiny new 2024 RAM 2500 Tradesman to tow with. MUCH better experience.
Currently looking into what we need to do to be able to overnight without hookups to allow for multi-day travel trips. A decent generator is a must (we are AC dependent).
Looking to try to make it Bristol next year for a NASCAR race and possibly Florida for a rocket launch. May stay a little closer to home and do both of those in Texas first.
A Grand Canyon trip is also in the very early planning stages...
