New to forum, new to RV-ing with old RV
In August (2014) kind of on a whim, we purchased a 1997 35' Winnebago Adventurer. We tested it on about a 500 mile round trip to Mayport Naval Station a couple of weeks ago, except I followed in our SUV, since my husband had appointments in Jacksonville. I still do not know what it will be like to travel in it on I-75 a road that I do not like. Next time we go, it will be minus a follow vehicle on that dread road. So......we will see.
I have gone from clueless as to just about everything motorhome, to feeling like I could "man" a technical assistance hotline and have come to know the workings of the systems more than I ever imagined or wanted. It all started when I checked the radiator fluid and oil levels and found both low. I put the funnel in the radiator and went off to search for some oil and antifreeze. Since we had no oil, my husband went to the store and purchased a couple of quarts. Unfortunately, when he came back with the oil, I was not at the front of the vehicle and he poured oil into the radiator. .
This began the journey of "discovery". Today I discovered how much it sucks to have a Norcold refrigerator. I spent days reading, searching, testing and dismantling things to find out why the fridge quit working the first week of ownership. I was pretty happy to find out it seemed like the front "eyebrow" control board needed to be replaced. Easy, just unplug old and plug in a new. Except there is no replacement part available on the planet. Now I totally understand why Norcold draws so much criticism and I am chiming in!
Other than not having a fridge, the RV is really nice and we are looking forward to our next trip.

YES! One more unsuspecting person to staff the "How The Heck Do I Fix THIS" hotline. . . . . Just what the psychiatrist recommended for me !
Welcome to the site, your shift on the Hotline starts right now!
