New to iRV2, looking forward to being a member.
Greetings;
Certainly glad to be here.
We have been full timers for about 10 years now. Been parked in and around San Antonio for the last 4 years while being treated at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center. Got a number of things going on, but nothing real serious at present. All my Docs tell me if I behave, I will die of something else before what ever they are treating me for gets me.
Anyway, we were living in a 37' 5th wheel, traveling in a 32' Jayco TT, and have a 30' motor home that we keep at the track, and use as race support.
Just recently, had a discussion with all my doctors and reached an agreement that we will be in town about every three months for a week or so, and will have any needed appointments during that time. And, we traded the 5er for a 41' motor home, selling the Jayco, and the entire race set up and hitting the road.
We have many things we want to do, but most of all, don't want to wake up one morning and discover I have died of something else while waiting to be cured off what didn't kill me. I think that makes sense.
So, we now own a 2002 Holiday Rambler Imperial. Peg (aka my "adult supervisor") loves the inside, and I am having a grand time tinkering with all the gizmos and gadgets on this thing. Learning a lot. A lot more stuff than was on the 5er, TT, or even the older Holiday Rambler.
Planning on taking a short 200 mile trip down to our old Winter Texan playground in Rockport Texas just to see how things go with our new toy.
Well, I think that's it for now. As you probably guessed, I can get a bit wordy at times, but I do try to keep it under control.
Later

Welcome aboard DraginRat.
We are currently in Rockport. We arrived the first of November and will be staying through December before moving on down to South Padre Island for the first three months of next year.
I think you have the right plan in mind. The weather has been great so far and looks to be stay that way for a while. We stayed on Bay View RV park in November and then moved to Circle W RV ranch for this month. Both are nice parks offering many activities for their guests. Circle W has an indoor pool and hot tub which is nice for those days that are not "perfect".
I hope your shake down trip goes well.

Hoffie;
We stayed a Winter at Circle W back when the old English gent owned it. First few years stayed at the old Rain Tree RV Park, again back when the park was owned by Jeff.
We are looking at staying at the Quiet One for a week this time.
Thinking if things work out, we will probably Winter down there somewhere starting next Winter. We have a lot of friends that spend the Winter there.
Use to have a small fishing boat there, and had many, many hours of fun before health issues got the better of me. The health issues are pretty much a thing of the past, but probably won't be getting another boat for awhile.
We do miss the place.

Oh, by the way. Did the ponds at Circle W ever fill up again??

Yes, they just stocked one of them out front across from the pool. The new owners are keeping the park full up by catering to the oil field workers so there are lots of 5th wheels here but about half the park is empty during the daylight hours. It is still a quiet park and many nice fulltimers and Winter Texans. Still lots of fishermen here with trailer boats.
