New to RV

Hello
My name is Victoria and my husband and I just bought our first (used but new to us) RV. We are newly empty nested and are looking forward to Weekend explorations with our dog Pippin.
We have cleaned it top to bottom inside and out.
I was a bit overwhelmed with all the "stuff" we needed to buy. Leveling blocks and sewer pipes and water filters and water pressure regulators and power surge protectors and electric dog bones to go from one amp to another !
But we have just about gotten everything in that is a neccessity to run the RV.
Now I have to work on getting things for living in it but that will be fun

Looking forward to learning from you all as we start this journey.

Hi Victoria

Glad to have you here with us.

It can really be an eye opener when you start buying things for an RV. You will soon learn which were important and which were not.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Congrats and welcome! Now you just have to find a place to stow all that great "stuff"! As you get out on the road you will naturally migrate to the type of CG's you enjoy. Watch what you need and use in those places, that "stuff" deserves a permanent storage spot. The rest ends up in a box someplace as a lesson learned.
Enjoy, see ya in a CG on the road.

Thank you all for the warm welcome 😁
DH is Curt
I love to organize and plan so we already have rubber maid type buckets for the gear. We haven't bought anything fun or pretty yet 😭(at least IMO).
We just bought sewer hoses and power adapters/protectors and sealants and leveling kits and an RV cover.
Today we are resealing all the windows and double checking the roof to see if we want to go ahead and recoat it now. We got eternabond and dicro lap sealant on the way because you need to have those at the ready(or so we understand). We are using proflexRV around the windows and down seams today.

Make sure you know where the major components are: inverter, generator breakers, fuse blocks. Nothing like tripping the inverter off line at 17 degrees and late at night having to crawl into basement to find reset. Understand how to shift between shore power/ water and onboard systems.

Get out and use the rig, enjoy yourselves. Don't sweat the small stuff, every trip has some learning opportunities. Ask other campers, peoples always love to share tricks of the trade and great places they have found along the way.

Have some fun!
