New to RVing and the Newmar family..

I've been looking at alot of used Rv's over the last couple of months but most of then have just been trashed by the owners and there KIDS.. I was looking for a class A diesel Toy Hauler and there few and far in between in our price range.. We looked at Class C and some super C's and I just didn't care for the ride they were a liitle to much like a truck for my liking and none of them had real bedrooms most of them had the cab over beds and that would not cut it for us.. So we ended up going with a new 2012 Newmar Canyon Star 3920 Toy Hauler Class A Gas.. I wasn't sure about the whole gas thing but after speaking to a guy at the track that had one he said with a full load of bikes and 5 people and all his goodies it pulls just fine up the hills in cali and the fit and finsh was as nice as we had seen in some of the class A diesels that we had been looking at.. Were picking it up on thursday from Tom Lindstrom RV in the la area. Tom had the best price by almost 10k over any of the other dealers I had spoken to and there were a lot of them!! lol Were going to take it to disneyland for our first trip its less then a hour from his shop so we can work out any of the bugs we may come across in the first couple of days out there before we head back to Las Vegas.. Thanks for listening to me and I glad to be apart of this board... Mitch aka Sicduc

First and foremost, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. I looked up the model and floor plan of the 3920 and that looks like a nice amount of space for storage for toys. Tracking down good quality used units here can be a problem. Have seen a several mobil dumpsters, both gas and DPs, even at the better dealerships. I've been "lucky" here locally on both quality and price.

Just got back from taking delivery of our new Canyon Star and we couldn't be any happier with the new rv.. We logged just under 1000 miles with only one problem with the bedroom tv. Luckly we were only about 60 miles from the dealer so we headed back over there where we got eveything repaired and we were on our way in under 20 min.. What I didn't think about was the traffic that we were going to hit from anaheim to just north of hollywood. It took us 2.5 hours each way!!
