New to RVing, new (used RV), so many things to learn!

Greetings all -

My wife and I just purchased a 2005 Safari Simba with about 35K miles on it. We've taken it twice on a couple of fairly modest trips so far, but we enjoyed them. I tend to "get into" whatever hobbies I take on so I've spent a LOT of time reading various forums and watching zillions of videos on YouTube.

I'm learning a lot! And spending what seems to me to be a lot of $$$. Oh well. So far I have no buyers remorse, which has got to be a good thing, right?

Pretty quick off the bat we replaced all four tires on the back - the fronts were new last year. There went a chunk of change. New shocks are next to address the porpoising issue, and maybe a steering stabilizer.

Thanks for having this awesome Site. It looks like there are a lot of dedicated people who are willing to share there experience and advice. Believe me when I say I'm grateful for it.

Markus53-

First off, welcome to iRV2!

Second, you should add a "signature" to your profile. It contains whatever info you want; most people put info about their coach there, so they don't have to type it into each message. Instructions for adding a signature are here.

If your Simba is built on a Ford or Workhorse gas chassis, I may have wiring diagrams for your coach. If you send me a private message that includes your e-mail address, I'll send the diagrams to you. Don't "publish" your e-mail address in public here, or the spammers will get it. Instructions on sending a private message are here.

1st off welcome to the site. Ya there is going to be a whole lot of stuff you will learn about the world of RVing. We have all been there and done that.
I myself learned recently that INS companies are not your friends even your agent will get your blood boiling. The type of policy and what it covers will if it ever needed to cash in on it will make ya think why did i ever get ins. What you think you got covered prob won't be.
But RVing is an awesome world. great times, meeting great ppl, enjoying life.
Ya get to wonder why buy or build a house.

Congrats on your new to you Safari Simba. As you may already know, Monaco bought Safari in the late 1990's:

"Safari RV by Monaco also offers three class A gas motorhomes, the Safari Passage, the Safari Simba Gas and the incomparable Safari Trek. These three motorhomes offer a wide variety of floor plans, features and price points".

Searching the Monaco owners forum and Workhorse chassis forums here will be a good place for information.
