Hey Everyone,

I'm Ania and I'm from Baltimore, MD. I don't have a RV yet, but I'm looking into it. Someone who's into RV-ing recommended this site.

I love to travel , especially going hiking and camping. I have two German Shepherds who travel with me. They love it too. The problem has been finding places to stay that accept dogs. So, I'm thinking about getting a travel trailer to pull behind my SUV (I'm getting a new one soon).

I'm looking forward to getting some great advice from you guys and to share my adventures, once I start traveling.

Best wishes,

Ania, Gretchen (Sabe GSD female , 1.5 yrs old), and Rorie (Golden Sable male GSD, almost 1 year old)

Ania, welcome! Lots of folks join prior to having an RV! Lots of great information here. Feel free to jump in and ask questions. Everyone's VERY helpful!

Julie Mik

P.S., love your Shepherd's names! We have a Shepherd/Greyhound mix -- Maddie -- the psycho Shepherd! She has separation anxiety issues, but we love her anyway!

Ania and poochies, welcome aboard. You are playing it wise to do some research and get some opinions before you dive in to a trialer.

Number one rule in RV shopping is never believe the RV or truck sales person. Few have any real experience towing or RVing. Next rule to remember is that RV and truck sales people lie.

Before you decide on a new SUV, take some time to look at trailers and get an idea of what you feel comfortable with and then you will know what size tow vehicle you will need.

SUV's are somewhat limited in what they can tow due to the short wheelbase and high center of gravity.

Have fun shopping and come back with any questions you may have.

Ken

Ania, welcome to iRV2. So glad to see that you have joins us and are doing your homework before making a decision. If more of the people that get into this lifestyle were to do as you there would be a lot more happy campers. Good luck and enjoy the hunt. Take your time and you will be glad you did.

Welcome!

We're relatively new here, also. With no RV registered in April, then asked a bunch of questions --- happy to say many folks here provided significant help. We got our new motor home just last week!

Glad you're here --- and you'll get good advice here.

Welcome! You have come to the right place for a lot of usefull information from a bunch af great people. I am originally from Baltimore as well. About 3 years ago we moved to central PA but still do a lot of camping in your neck of the woods. There a lot of nice state parks around that allow dogs. Three within less than an hour of Baltimore are Susquahanna, Elk Neck, and Patapsco state parks. They all have miles of Hiking trails and very nice campgrounds. If you would like, I can recommend an excellent RV dealer in Joppa, MD. I have bought all my trailers from the same salesperson, and I can gurantee he would take care of you and not stear you in the wrong direction.
