New to site today
Hi,
My name is Dan, my wife Alex, and I decided to buy a motorhome and do some traveling and get our feet wet before we retire and go full time.
We are in the process of looking for a 2005 - 2008 DP, being new to this we have a lot to learn and research to do, any suggestions would be appreciated. We live in McKinney, Texas with our 2 Shih Tzu's Bobo and Buddy.
Looking forward
Dan

Welcome. A few words of advice. Don't ask what is the best. Put forth your needs and ask what others with experience think would suit you. Also, using an RV for vacations (like we do) is quite different than going full-time in one. You may find that you will need to purchase another one when you go full-time. I know that I would. For example my MH (motorhome) will only pull 5,000 lbs, and if I were to go full-time I want a trailer with the car & other stuff in it, so this coach would have to go just based on that. Another thinking point is where you want to camp. If you are big on boondocking (dry camping) in state parks, you will probably want a smaller RV that will be able to navigate those places. If you cruise from RV park to RV park, then you may want to get a larger one with more spacious accommodations. Also where you want to go and when. Some MHs are great in cold weather, others not so much. So ask those questions, there are a lot of experienced campers here.

Welcome aboard and glad to have you with us. Have a great time with your shopping experience. Just remember find the floorplan that would work for you and go for it. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advise PushedAround, We are going to look at a 2005 Coachmen 376ds Cross Country SE, 38', the pictures look good and it has what we are looking for in the floor plan (by the pictures) so we will see. What ever we do end up buying I want to have an inspection done, can anyone suggest someone in the Plano/McKinney area?
Thanks again
Dan

Welcome to the forum. We looked around for a long time and asked a ton of questions. You got the right idea bringing the rig in for an inspection. Good luck and happy travels.
