New to the forum
I'm starting to educate myself before making a purchase in about 24 months. My wife and I plan to take our son (now 12) for vacations all over the country, beginning in the summer of 2015, and we plan to do this in a Class A. So far I've found a lot of great information on this site and look forward to continuing my research and contributing to the forum community.

24 months? He'll be 14 and wanting to spend time with someone other than mom & dad, better do it now before he gets distracted.

Thanks very much everyone for the kind welcomes. We're hoping that our son is not too old to want to spend time with us when he's 14. We've already told him that he can bring a friend on the trips so hopefully that will help. Also he's an only child so our family unit is pretty tight. I would love to do it sooner but financially the time to do it will be the summer of 2015. I plan to have the RV by then and have it all sorted out and ready to go. This is something that I've wanted to do for a very long time and I believe the extended research and planning time will also be beneficial.
