New to the Full Timers lifestyle

Hello everyone,

My wife and I have been retired for a couple of years and have been doing the Snowbird travels in the late winter months escaping the huge ice cube in Ohio called Lake Erie.

This year is different. We sold our home in Ohio in late October and decided to head south for an extended winter trip since we no longer had a permament anchor in Ohio. We are traveling with our Silky Terrier Simon on a Winnebago Vectra towing an SRX.

This year we decided to check out Texas instead of Florida as in past years. We are hanging out in the Coastal Bend area and have had good weather and nice parks to date. My wife is struggling a little because of not being with her grandkids for the holidays but we have been checking in with them weekly and sending some special secret Santa packages back up to the north.

I hope the forums will be an excellent source of information as we settle inot this new chapter in our lives.

Welcome to the full time lifestyle. We're relatively newbies with 17 months on the road and we don't see an end in sight.

If you haven't tried facetime or another online live video call check with the grandkids. They will know how to set things up. We get together with friends and relatives frequently. It eases the pain a lot.

We use video Skype to communicate with our son in Belgium and daughter/grandbaby in Baltimore. It definitely helps ease the separation.

Welcome from Grafton Ohio !!

As I type this, I'm sitting at the shore of that ice cube called Lake Erie (E.9th & Superior).

Hoping to take up the same life style soon.

Enjoy and have a Merry and Blessed Christmas.

Welcome to the irv2 community! Congrats on making the move to full-timing and good luck with making the adjustments to "seeing the country." You should find lots of folks here who share your new lifestyle and they are really helpful.
