Well - the three of us (my wife, our puppy Nala and I) have just returned from a 25 day trip in our RV...just decided to jump in with both feet...before we left home I completed an eyes on check all around and found a major item needing immediate attention (replace the pitman bar/rod) and was able to get a temporary repair completed one day before our departure - original new parts held up in Houston due to the hurricane...anyway, loaded everything up and left for first night in Tyler State Park, second night in Wichita Falls RV park, third night in Amarillo RV Park, next few nights in Santa Fe, a few more nights in Durango, then began our return trip - stops at Santa Rosa, Amarillo, Abilene, Leander, TX (with grandkids) and finally home...learned a tremendous amount of stuff along the way - like engine noise is normal (scary at 4400 RPM going up), tow haul works both uphill and downhill (automatic engine braking) - gasoline fill-ups challenging but not a problem - generator ran smoothly all the way - inverter error codes workable - parking w/tow vehicle sometimes problematic but successful...one last thing, you don't buy an RV for gas mileage...nuff said...
