New to the site but not in age, young in our 60's

Live in Ohio above Cincinnati, born in Philly grew up on the Penn Charter school grounds, Enlisted in the USAF travelled to England and fround my Princess Diana stayed there a while and produced two girls and a boy now all grown up and one has made us grandparents. We purchased a 2005 Gulf Stream SE Sun Voyager 38 footer powered by a 8.1 gas GM engine with an Allison transmission in 2011. Installed steering assist which made it much nicer to drive. Installed a Blue Ox tow system with an internal breaking system so all we do is hook up, pull a fuse and off we go with the GM Terrain following close behind. Once in a while when turning I see the SUV in my side mirrow but always on the rear camera. Replaced the front two tires and will replace the rear 4 tires next Spring as they are at their 5-7 year life limits. We have a flat automatic awning but wished it was an adjustable pitch model since flat does not do much for sun blocking. Have no regrets upgrading from a Couger 5th wheel and allowing my 2002 GMC 1500HD truck to sleep when we go out on the road, it has 1008 miles on it now but still runs good and keeps it's black paint shine looking good, never used as a work truck. Upgraded to a front 42 inch flat screen TV with Blue Ray and replaced the wind up TV areral with a bat wing digital model. Also installed a Direct TV satilite dish on the roof so we are self supporting with a built in generator on board. Never use the water system except to wash in as I just don't trust the intake of possible microbes lurking in the system we can't see so it is bottled water all the way. Our third rider is always with us, a Female Wiemaroner just turning 8 this year but she is a spoiled baby girl who loves to steal food when no one is looking. They say chocolate is bad for dogs but no one told her but we are aware and do our best to ensure she does not get into any. Loves women and children but needs to get to know men before she would allow even a small petting, I think she feels men always have other motives me being the exception but then I am Alphia in the group and she looks to me for all her needs of food, water and occational treats which she rewards us with tricks which we can almost understand her talking at times.

Welcome to the site. As a retired Marine, I thank you for your service. We are fairly new to the site as well, and attended the annual rally in Tn a few weeks ago. Had a great time and met some fantastic people. Can't wait till next years rally. You should consider attending. Again welcome.

Bob; were you in the Aviation area of the Marines ? If you were there is a reunion scheduled for end of the month in San Diego. I'm retired AF but will attend to represent GE Aviation F4-J79. I can forward you an invation copy. It is for all who supported the F4 Phantom or flew it. Remind me someone about next year's rally we would like to attend!

Not Aviation

J79Eng,
No I was on the ground side. I was an Engineer Equipment Officer. Keep an eye out for the next annual rally and hope to see you there.
