Hello, we (hubs & me) are new RV owners. We actually don’t take possession until Dec 2020, currently living in our 40’ sail catamaran- which is for sale.
We are excited about the next chapter of our travel adventures and making massive TO-DO list.
Our RV is a 42’ 1997 Overland on Frieghtliner chassie but we are not sure of the model. We bought it from a friend who hubs has known since they were 18 (we are 60ish) so they’ve known each other a long time. He is sharing lots of pictures & we have had a number of conversations but he doesn’t seem to know much about the RV. (Don’t judge)
Anyway, I’m searching for plans, ceiling & floor plan of our model so that we can plan appropriately. We want to add a washer/dryer, solar panels, etc...
Our coach does not have slides (we like that) So is there anyway to find out what model coach it is and whether layout plans are available online??
Thanks in advance.. Looking forward to our new life & interacting with this community.

Glad to have you here with us.

We have a Vintage RV forum under the "Forums" tab at the top of the page. If you have your vin number someone there may be able to answer questions about your Overland.

YES, don't worry we will take good care of him, and soon you will enjoy not being back on the Sailboat. Lots of freedom and things to see here on the ROADS: As for RV type this may be helpful.

As for learning don't worry we should have you all fixed up buy DEC. The first thing you will need to do is take your new RV to a pack close to your HOME and do what we call a SHAKEDOWN. Test everything and make some notes also the in this forum on the top menu find your model RV fellow owners in OWNERS FORUM as they can give you some real insights. What kind of RVing do you have in mind? Boondocking, Following Sports teams, Fun and driving the roads and touring, and many others. Lost of good books and more check out crime stores by Navida Barr, if you enjoy http://NPS.gov and as a backdrop for a good crime story. Welcome, enjoy, and ask questions. Your Humble and you may be interested in a one day class on RV driving skills as I loved it after some years of USCG classes haha. YEP a forum boater myself for a few years.
