Newb Checking In

Good day, everyone!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My adventure started with the agonizing search for a light-ish truck camper for my 2017 Silverado 1500. Pickings are pretty slim here in the Northeast, and prices are exorbitant. Many passed me by, sometimes by mere minutes. It seemed a deal would never materialize. Finally, a 93 Sun-Lite Eagle WT popped up a mere two hours away! I made the plan, and went to check it out.

I wasn't too disappointed. The fellow was asking $2500, and the rig was in OK shape. I talked him down by half, nitpicking every little thing I could find. He was still smiling when I pulled out of there, and so was I, the Eagle strapped in with temporary tie-downs.

She was heavier than I anticipated, but not too bad. I got her home and got to work. The interior walls were refinished in cedar tongue and groove panel. I cleaned everything up to the wife's satisfaction, then started on the outside. removed and replaced all the old sealant. New tail lights, new running lights. started on some concerns with the roof corners, and then...

Craigslist.

An unknown year Shadow Cruiser pop-up TC came available 30 minutes away for $650. I simply couldn't restrain myself.

The Shadow Cruiser was far lighter than the Sun-Lite. There is no toilet, but the wife preferred the layout by leaps and bounds. Far more storage. Far more open feeling without the WC. Simpler. Very few repairs needed.

So now I have two...

That's my story. I'm a Scoutmaster here in PA, and despite the ribbing I will likely receive, I'm trying out the Shadow Cruiser at this weekend's campout.

Anyone in Western PA need a Sun-Lite Eagle WT?
