Love this forum, it was time to join. We just sold our 39' Destiny 5'er, wanting to move UP to a Class A. We also sold our 2012 King Ranch diesel, gonna miss her, just broke in at 66K. We bought, after a yrs long search, a 2014 Entegra Aspire DEQ (42'). It had only 8K miles on it and was pretty much new. A few items needed attention, like a new motor in the bath vent, and new batteries. We bought it in AZ and drove it home to Colorado last month. We ran against head winds much of the way and still averaged 8.4 mpg. Our 5'er averaged about 11 mpg so we were pleasantly surprised. We've traveled for the past 4 years, mostly west and Canada about 100 days per year, spending the winters in Texas.

Our first trip is scheduled for Dec. 1 from Colorado Springs to Concord, NC to see the grandkids. Any suggestions on route and RV parks would be appreciated. We'll take 4-5 days getting there and then around Dec. 18, head down to San Antonio for the winter. We stay at the Alsatian Golf and RV Resort in Castroville, our 4th winter there. Again, any suggestions on a southerly route to Houston and San Antonio with stops in-between would be appreciated.

We are newbies to the Class A world, so have lots to learn. Driving the beast is easy, even with a toad (2017 Cherokee Trail Hawk) and a Blue Ox bar and Stealth Break Buddy. Great site, hope I can add to it's excellent topics.

Congrats!!! - We love our Class A as well and wouldn't go back to anything else. When we travel out east, if you are going through kansas and the like, make sure you look at reserving spots that are national or state. We like to stay at army corp of engineers camp grounds, BLM and national parks. Honestly we haven't stayed in a commercial RV park in over a year. Always too crowded and too expensive for our liking.

Has anyone felt the need to add solar panels to keep batteries up and not use the AGS feature of the Magnum inverter/charger. Iím about to install a 160 watt panel for $1700 going into winter. Thought? Stupid or not? Be gentle on me.

Thanks, ready to leave this next weekend, if the coach is ready. Getting a new bath vent installed and maybe a solar panel. Good idea or not? Thinking that while in storage, I wouldn’t need to use the gender.
