newbie again
morning everybody my name is rick. i live in south central ontario and recently acquired a 5th wheel trailer, used. i am a semi retired business owner and don't know how i ended up with a trailer. actually my first job in life was a truck driver running all over n. america for 20 plus years. some how if there is a trailer for sale and i think it's a reasonable price they come home with me. lol the better half just shakes her head any more. i have a 2000 f-350 dually, powerstroke, which i bought new to help me with my addiction.
it's a 1998 fleetwood prowler approx 30 ft with 1 slide. a couple of friends of mine told me about it and had pic's, the price was very reasonable, located first exit north of daytona H-D on I-95. so i bought it sight un-seen. went down last spring with 2 brothers for a week of golf and used it. met the park managers and made arrangements for them to rent it out, it actually covered most of the costs and was on a site beside one of the managers so it wasn't a party trailer.
anyway, this is getting winded. a buddy was down for bike week and i gave him the trailer to use and he brought it home for me last week. i paid his fuel home. good deal for both of us. i will use it around here for the jamboree circuit and see if i like the life style. no pic's yet.
thanks for having me; rick

Hi and welcome to the forum. My dad had a 2000 f-350, my husband fell in love with it so we bought a 2000 f-450. We have a 5'er too, I know you will enjoy camping. It is an addiction, LOL. My husband laughs at me because every time we are at Walmart and you can here all the diesel trucks I say we must be at the campground. It is my calgon moment. LOL Have lots of fun and safe travels.

Welcome to the site. Had the same truck years ago[2001] loved the 7.3 4x4 Dually. Watch the brake line behind the gas tank. Enjoy the lifestyle and have safe trouble free travels.

Hi Rick! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join the gang!
Congrats on the new rig! We pulled a 5er for 10 years before getting the MH last year. We loved it!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome to the forum. Did the puppy dogs follow you home, too, when you were a child?
I don't know, hunny, I was just looking at it and the next thing I know it's sittin' in the drive.
Enjoy.

thanks for the heads up on the brake line. i will check it out next time i have it on the hoist for service. first i have heard of this possible problem. its been a good truck. i have had around 6-7 of the 7.3 in 550 and 650 in delivery trucks and usually got up to 6-700,000 km on them with just one complete injector change. body and running gear wore out before power train. last new one i bought was a 2006 550 with a 6 or 6.2 something that was a nightmare. switched over to I-H's after that.
mine has 260,000km-156,000mi on it. just broke in. lol went looking at new one's last year and couldn't justify the big $$$ so i had mine re-painted and kept on trucking.
