Newbie Family

Hello all!

We are a family of 3 (myself, my lovely wife, and our 8-year old daughter) living in central Indiana. My work is seasonal, so I have large chunks of time off, and we happen to home-school our daughter, so we've decided to take advantage of our unusual freedom and do some RV traveling.

We purchased a like-new 32 foot 2008 Four Winds Hurricane 31D in November (just in time to winterize and store it!) and we are excitedly planning our first big trip: a 4-5 week tour of the western U.S. in May/June.

I have been spending hours and hours studying to learn all I can about the RV lifestyle (countless YouTube videos, several RV blogs and forums, a couple great books, etc.) and I plan to be as ready as I can be for that first night on the road.

We're planning to do some practice trips close to home in the spring, before setting out on The Big Trip in mid-May. I'm learning a lot through my own research, but of course, I still have questions and I look forward to getting advice and sharing stories here with all of you veterans.

We are very excited!

Welcome, It sounds as though your are doing everything correctly. You will learn a lot from your short local jaunts that you make. Good luck and there is a lot of info available here. Most you can just do a search and if you can't find it there, just ask...Good luck.
