Newbie from Canada Quebec

Hi everyones

I just bought a F150 XLT with HDPP. I went for minimal equipment to get a good payload to pull that TT that I dont own yet. I have a payload of 2473 lbs and a tow capacity of 10600 lbs giving me a greater choice fot the TT of my dreams.

I traveled a lot with my parents when I was a teenager in a TT and then some more when my son was a teenage

Now there is only me and my wife and we will both retire in April 2019. We want to celebrate that moment in our lives by doing a 3 to 4 month roadtrip across Canada and then do the USA west coast and visit lots of the states parks down south as Dead Valley, Grand Canyon, Yosemite,Joshua, Arch etc...

I hope to find info here on the TT I wish to buy, camping trics, equipment etc.

Here is my truck:

Hi Windman,

Welcome to the Forum! RVParky.com is what some people use to find CGs (campgrounds). Just enter the location and it will give you choices. You can fine tune your choices on the left side so you limit what you are looking at.

In case you do not know, you can often stay at Walmart overnight to save time and or money. Your rig is completely able to function without hook ups so keep it in mind.

YouTube is a good place to watch videos to educate yourself on RVs and everything to go along with them. You will need a tool kit of course. Does not need to be huge, but you want to make sure it has a few items essential to your RV and truck. Bottled water for when traveling, full tank of propane to run the fridge. small air compressor, leveling blocks, flash light, cooler in case you need to use it for any reason.

Not sure what you are looking for with the rig but check out PPL Motorhomes out of Texas. They just have really good floor plans posted to help you to decide on what rig you want.

Some really good advice I got here was to look at a rig with the slides out and also in. Can you move around and live inside the rig with the slides in in case you need to. Stop on the road and want to eat lunch, can you access your fridge? Can you get in your bed if stopping at Walmart, that kind of thing.

Most of all, good luck with finding what works for you and welcome to the U.S. and you will love the area you plan to visit.

Lynne
