Newbie from Illinois
Hey guys... I just purchased my first camper and looking forward to taking it out. I got a 2005 34ft Nomad. Originally went out looking for about a 26 footer. But what the heck, bigger is better right?. Anyways I'm completey new to the whole camper thing and just looking for any input on any must haves to keep in the trailer and reading about other peoples stories. Here's a picture of my palace of wheels!!!

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your RV. She looks great. To start out, You will need at least 25' of water hose (the ones designated for drinking) 2 - 25" hoses would be better, a sewer hose system for dumping, electric dogbones, camper chairs (1 for each camper),some basic tools and electrical test gauges, and the list goes on. Regardless of what you pack, you will forget something on your first few trips. My advice, take a few trips close to home to try out the systems as a learning curve and find out what you will need.
Best of luck
Happy RV'ing

Glad to have you here with us.
Make up a check list of everything you have to do when you getting ready to leave. Then make another list of the things you need to do when you arrive at your CG. Use the list and you won't be saying Uh-oh guess what we forgot to do.
Good luck and Happy Trails!!

Welcome to the irv2 gang and congrats on your Nomad wheels! Glad you decided to join. You already have some great suggestions. By the time everyone chimes in, you should have a good start on what to carry in or with your trailer. For me, safety comes first and having problems on the road is not my idea of fun; so, I'd ask some of these folks more familiar with 34 trailers what you should do about tires, safe towing, and so forth. If your tires are "originals," I'd start with replacing them (just my opinion). Other stuff to take along is much more fun. If you search the web and this site for RV checklists, you'll find a lot of good ideas. Good luck and safe travels to you!
