Newbie from N. Texas

Greetings!

Since we are new grandparents we have moved from a Class B to a 5th Wheel for the additional space. It's a new unit and we are still figuring everything out. So far we are happy with the make/model and have had only very minor issues.

The first thing we did was to replace the tires and add TPMS. We have also added soft starts to that we can camp with 30 amps. They were very easy to install but to be honest I don't enjoy getting up on that roof.

Oh, after towing a few times I decided to upgrade the pinbox to the Moryde cushion model. Wow, what a difference that made!

Both my wife work and will probably put in another 10 years or so. I have worked remote since 2009 so I travelled all over with the Class B. It will be interesting to see how that plays out with pulling the larger 5th Wheel.

Anyway, I've been a lurker for several months but finally decided to join. See you soon!

CONGRATULATIONS on your new rig!

There is good and bad from moving from a smaller RV to a larger one. I, personally, did not have any bad. I went from an 18' TT to a 32' Class A (current is even bigger pulling my Explorer making me 57' long).

I hope that you too will have only plus's with your new rig!!

Thank you! So far, and it's early in this new era for us, the only con would be finding places to park while on trips. For example, at eating places, etc. But we will learn a new way.

It does take a little practice, for sure. You need to think farther ahead. I look for places close to where there is a large parking lot. I can then use my mobility scooter and just buzz right on over but the average person can take a stroll, stretch their legs before a meal.

For sure! Lately, I hop on Google Maps to check parking lots of various places we might need to pull over into. In 2 weeks we are driving up to Missouri to visit our son and his family and I was on Google Maps all day, checking out stops along the way.
