Newbie from NJ
Hello all. We have a 2017 Winnebago 2201ds. We are new to RV段ng but would like to consider becoming full time.
Huge problem, I am not mechanically inclined. Spent nearly 30 years in a technical support position so, I知 not a dummy.
Looking into what we need to be ready for extended trips with our RV. Generator, portable solar panels, we want to be able to boondock when needed.
Looking for tips, advice.
Thanks

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!
There's lots that could go on that list, but a generator would be at the top for me. That will let you stop most anywhere along the way for an overnight stay without having to find a campground!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I wouldn't jump into getting a lot of things until you go on several trips and see what you actually need. So much depends on what type of camping you end up doing. RV 'things" are sold everywhere.
I see you are from Cherry Hill, NJ. I opened a McDonalds in Cherry Hill when that restaurant was first built back in the late 60's. I was working at the Lindenwold restaurant when the owner asked me to take several experienced crew members and get his brand new Cherry Hill restaurant up and running. After we did that he moved me to his next new store, then another. Then he made me a offer to help me own my own store. I could kick myself now, but I told the owner I really wanted to be a engineer. He told me he would help me with college tuition year for year if I would agree to continue to manage his stores. while going to college. I'll never forget him!

Welcome to iRV2! Although we spend most of our time in the Keys, we still have a house and farm in Hunterdon County, NJ north of you.
If you're not mechanically inclined, they you need two things for your RV: a credit card and patience. Getting things fixed can get expensive and often RV repair places are booked 6 weeks in advance.
But this forum is a great place to get advice on how to fix things yourself or make you knowledgeable enough to deal with the repair guy.
Good luck and enjoy!
