Newbie from Northern Ontario
Hello everyone from Northern Ontario!
My wife and I are newly retired and plan to spend most of this winter in our 36ft 2008 Damon Daybreak in warmer climates. Although we have had "campers" for many many years this will be our longest time spent away in an RV.
I am looking forward to the many hints and ideas to be found on this site.

Hi David
Originally from Sudbury On now in the Maritimes previously a sailor having swallowed the anchor RV'ing is a leisurely way to spend the winter south without a snow shovel. Best advice I can give is take your time, plan ahead before you leave home and make sure your partner is content with your plans otherwise your winter sojourn will be most unhappy. This winter we will be travelling Florida and Louisiana stay mainly in Sate Parks. We are members of Passport, Escapee, Family Motor Home Coach Assoc. which offers much needed advice and activities one can engage in for your stay down south. there are also other RV associations out there. Being a Canadian the exchange of funds is a nightmare at times. We have a US bank account with a Canadian Bank where one can transfer funds easily and utilize debit cards for purchases. To obtain cash we choose cash back at various businesses when making purchases to avoid bank charges. We learned the hard way and with wish we had this ivr2 site to exchange ideas and ask all sorts of questions. Wishing you a snow free winter.
