Newbie from Pennsylvania
Hi everyone. My wife and I are getting close to retirement and do not own an RV yet. We both have decided that we would like to see the country when we do retire, and that we would probably love doing it in an RV. We know very little and will be starting our homework. I'm looking forward to learning on this site and appreciate the chance to join the community.

Hi Joe...grew up in Williamsport, sure miss the place.
Have you ever used an RV?
Are you near Harrisburg? Big RV show there every year. I suggest you Google "RV shows Pennsylvania" You will see a bunch of shows around the state.
You need to look at no less than 100 RVs...You will then begin to form an opinion about what you want.
The most important item to look at is the layout of the RV and it's wise to make sure the wife likes it.

No experience at all with RV's although we do have a boat that we spend weekends on. We think we can see much more with an RV, so plans to take the boat south in the winter are now being reconsidered.

Welcome aboard the forum.
We are boaters and RVers as well.
Your objective should be to buy your second or third RV the first time around.
Many buy too quickly and are captured by the initial glamour. With the right and sufficient homework you can improve your odds and not want to trade in 1-2 yrs to get one that better fits your needs.
Lots of posts about buying yhe first rig... use the Google search bar and try several words / phrases. Don't bother with the forum search it is not as effective as the google search bar.
Hershey Pa is one of the better shows but you don't have to wait to start.
