Hi:

We inherited a 1987 Vogue and are in the first stages of digging through the layers of dirt/in other words the "fun" stage...We travel with two Chihuahuas and one crazy Quaker parrot. I am so glad to have found this site as we have many questions about restoring on a "budget". We have been told not to bother but to gut it and start from square one... Hmmm, not an option in this family...

To; Chimom,

Welcome to IRV2.

Good luck with your restoration.

I have no knowledge of re-building a rig, but I do the the Vogue was a quality rig.

I'm sure as the day goes by you will be greeted by many who may be of help in your quest.

Keep smiling; It's a great get-away option.

Chimom, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your restoration project. After you have cleaned out all the cabinets and cubby holes you may want to start off by installing new batteries and checking out all the systems one by one. You may even want to hire a technician to do a PDI on the coach if you are not familiar with anything RV related. You may be suprised that much of the hardware is salvageable; it all depends on the maintenance performed on the old girl as she aged. Good luck with the restoration and keep us informed.

Welcome ChiMom to the board! Your new inheritance really isn't that old if it has been well cared for. Enjoy your time cleaning through the layers of "fun"!

BTW... we travel with 2 minpins... I cannot imagine traveling without them .. and they are a perfect RV size!
