Newbie from Texas
We are new to the forum and fairly new to RVing. Been at for a couple years. We recently heard about membership camping clubs such as Coast to Coast, ROD, RPI, etc. Would love to hear opinions on joining these clubs. We know we have to belong to a home resort. Anyone with suggestions and/or advice they would like to share. We are planning to be on the road 9 to 10 months in 2014.

Welcome to the group of iRV2 folks. Lot's of good, free information here. I do not belong to any camping clubs...they can get expensive and if you wish to quit, selling your membership can be a chore. There are several good Texas groups you might try before you put a lot of money into a "club". The Texas Boomers is a large group here, you might look at them. www.texasboomers.org
They camp all around Texas. I would move slowly on the "clubs". JMHO Just my humble opinion.
You might add your home town and type of unit in case you have specific questions, knowing your unit helps. Good luck.

We have been RVers since 1984 and do not belong to any camping clubs. We are now retired and full time. We use Escapees and Good Sam for discounts. We may look into something next year.

Welcome to Irv, if you are impatient while waiting for first hand info you can always use the forum search for previous opinions. Fairly new? Hardly! Remember some of us are bright green. I'm still in the planning and saving stage, you beat me at the very least :-)

Hi folks! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join the group!
We use only Passport America and it pays for itself many times over in a year's time. Hope you enjoy the forum!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome to the forum, a ton of info here. I'm no saying the clubs are good or bad, but make sure you do your research.... Happy Trails...

The one I use the most is my Texas State Park Pass, $75 a year, some of the most beautiful campgrounds in the state for $18 -$25 a night

Welcome.
You will find friendly helpful people here.
Tons of experience and opinions.
We stayed away from the Clubs and time share type things.
When the in-laws were alive they were in one and after their the Executor of the Estate even had problems with them trying to bill the deceased.
Most State Parks have good plans and rates also there are many nice RV parks / resorts that need no membership.
