Newbie from Texas
Hi ppl. I’m a retired widower from Texas. I’m very new to rving as I just bought my first travel trailer last month. The park host where I am currently staying told me about this site. Lots of useful knowledge and help here it looks like. That’s great, I’m sure I’ll be needing it. I bought a Salem 187rb. Small but it’s only me and my cat so I’m hoping it will work. I’m full timing at least all summer, after that I will have a home in Austin that will serve as home base. I’m planning on traveling 6-8months of the year. I’ll see how it goes and progress from there. Currently thinking of heading to New Mexico and getting up in elevation to stay cool. We will see. In the meantime I’m reading and learning. Happy trails!

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum! You can learn a lot here. It's sure been a great resource for us.
YouTube also can be a good resource. Go there and enter any subject about RVing and they will have a video.
This is a great way to live and travel. There is a "RVing with Pets" forum that you might want to check out.
Good Luck, Lynne

It will work. Different mindset than living in a full sized house, but you will be surprised at how well you will adapt. My wife and I went the full time route for several years , late 70s to late 80s. Started in a 20' Nomad Travel Trailer, just the two of us and our dog. We did just fine for two years before going up in size to a 32' after the birth of our first son.
Congratulations and best wishes!
