Sounds like a good idea, any suggestions on the route around it?

To by-pass Chicago we took 90 north to 80 then 39 north and then back on 90 again, it was a lot less stressful. Travel safe

Very nice looking rig - congrats! (from former upstate NYers that seriously miss Wegmans, garbage plates, Pontillos & Zweigles -- but not the snow!)

LOL I hear ya, I could do without the snow also! Did your Garbage Plate come from Nick Tahoe's?

Oh yes. the downtown location preferably. I did find that fairport hots did a pretty good substitution... Oh, I forgot to mention we miss Abbotts (and Rohrbachs, and fish frys and....).
Hope you & your rig made it back safely.

Thanks to everybody on the forums, the information was invaluable in our final decision on which model and why type of RV to buy. I spent months poring over all of the threads. As you know we ended up with a Ventana by Newmar, picked it up from Steinbring in Garfield MN and then drove it back the 1300 miles to Fulton NY. It was a little intimidating but the comfort drive is the best and I quickly became comfortable with driving it. Looking forward to learning a lot more in the future
