Hello future temporary neighbors!
A little about myself... mid-thirties, raised in the great Pacific NW. Bounced around a bit having lived in Texas then Germany. Currently live near D.C. with my DW and kids. I sorely miss Seattle, and hope to be back there around the turn of the decade when my current obligations release me
... I'm an electrician by trade, the power generation and distribution kind. Love to navigate the world through technology but understand and appreciate the subtleties of nature. I'm a science enthusiast that loves to tinker. When I'm not busy breaking or fixing something I read, enjoy music, play sports, ride motorcycles, etc... basically enjoy life. You only get one, right?
This post may seem premature when I tell you that I don't plan to buy our full-timing rig for another ten years or so. Another quirky fact would be that I plan to work 40 or more hours per week while full-timing. Odd? No, I don't think so. Insane? Yes, some might say. Doable/feasible? Totally. Does the proposed lifestyle fit us? You betcha.
I've a lot of fond memories growing up camping and "cramping" (membership parks). I want to recapture that. This is a major life-hack that demands careful consideration. I've done the reconnaissance. After all the matrimonial discussion I'm super excited and the DW is on board.
I don't have an iota of RV expertise to bring to the forum. But lurking gets old after awhile and hopefully I can contribute something... just not sure what that will be as of yet. What I am sure of, however, is that I've found a great venue to glean wisdom from the sages. Thanks in advance!
