Smile Newbie, soon to be full time RV living

Hi, New Best Friends.

Our 40-year-old dream of full time RV living is soon to be realized. After many years of tent and pop-up trailer camping with our kids, and, more recently, two years of research and planning, hunny bunnie and I bought a big a$$ truck and our first big rig, a 36' KZ Durango Gold fifth wheel. We've had one driving lesson, a few weekends, and a couple of weeks travel from PA to FL and back. Our house is on the market and I'll be retiring from my job in September. Our hope is to see the beauty of our country while scheduling in visits with our kids and grandkids who are scattered from coast to coast. We might be crazy and who knows what will happen, but life's a journey and we will have some fun along the way.

Gail, AKA Bubbie

Welcome and congrats on the new rig and the upcoming retirement. Lots of good folks here.

We too are just waiting the sale of our house before hitting the road full time. Currently we split our time (3 months at a time) between our home in the Dominican Republic and our MH in the US. In fact we leave the DR at the end of this month for a 3 month trip though the North East US.

Enjoy the adventure.

We spent 6 months 'shopping' for 5th wheel
Finally ordered new truck and 5vr in Sept 2006....both delivered just before Thanksgiving.

Had an Estate Auction in Feb 2007 and hit the road April 2007
For 7 wonderful years we roamed the USA using secondary/back roads and it was GREAT!!

Enjoy your new 'life style' and remember 2 things
LESS is MORE
You are NO LONGER on vacation

Best wishes....
