Newbie to forum and RVing from Maryland

Hello everyone! As the subject says, we are new to the forum and to RVing. After watching a year worth of endless episodes on YouTube while quarantining we decided to take the plunge. We are soon to sign and purchase next week a 2021 Winnebago Adventurer 35F. Deposit left yesterday. We have two boys (19 and 16) and about 4 years from retirement.

It is exciting (trying to come up with a name for the rig) and certainly nerve racking. We are learning and reading a lot.

Based on reading, we will remove Extended Warranty from the deal and self fund it unless I get a great 3rd party deal from a wholesaler. Also searching for roadside assistance plans.

We are planning to set up our 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon as a toad using the Blue Ox kit but am also still confirming the 5K tow rating on the RV hitch.

Finally, we plan on taking a few trips this December down south but have been surprised that almost every place we check has no availability online. Not sure if we just have to call or rely on the online reservation system.

Well that's about it as a preface to chapter one.

Wish us luck!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Congrats on the new rig! I would suggest that you create a signature in your profile showing the make and model of your RV. That makes it easier for folks to help when you have questions. Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome! Good to have you here. The Jeep is a good toad. We feel that the best roadside assistance comes from Coach-Net. They actually show up and call to make sure someone did get there to help.

A few short trips to get the hang of things is a god idea. There are many more RV's on the road and fewer campgrounds. Look for county and city campgrounds.

Nice to see you here with us. Congratulations on your new Winnebago. Sounds like you have great plans. I’ve found in the past that online reservations often say no availability, when in fact they have spaces. Pick places you want to stop at and call them.

I have been using Coach-Net for ages. They are very good. They may not be the cheapest, but I’ve used them several times and have alway been pleased. They even have tech’s that can answer problems you might be having.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I did put the info in my signature under profile. Will have to figure out why it isn't showing up.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the new rig and you should have full roadside coverage from your manufacturer if you bought it new.

You are joining a good group of folks here with good information to share. Read the various threads here and ask questions as they come up or add information if you can.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
