Newbie wanting to Get a Roadtrek RV
Hello All,
My wife and I are very close to retirement - 2 to 3 yrs. and have started looking for a pre-owned 'well cared for' Roadtrek 210 Popular or 210 Versatile (the unit we have pretty much decided would fit our travel needs and lifestyle).
We want to see as many of our beautiful National Parks out west as possible when we start our travels!
Looking forward to learning more about 'how to do things with the RV' from this forum. Looks very interesting at first glance and hope to converse with many of you in the near future.
Happy RV-ing! Cheers,
Dennis

Why not start by renting one first to see how the two of you like it?

Dennis, welcome aboard. We had a 2003 190 Versatile and enjoyed many miles while I was still working. Lots of exploring Virginia, North and South Carolina during long weekends. Just before I retired we moved up to our current Motorhome and have been very happy with our choice. Good luck in the hunt for the Roadie. Make sure you join the Roadtrek International Club, great newsletter and always something going on too.

Hi Terry & Brenda,
See you are from the 'Banks of the mighty Miss." ... well we (my wife Nanci and I) are on the other end - just south of Baton Rouge in La. - 4 miles from - oh my, it is SO much bigger down here. 100 feet deep and 1 mile wide. Also, love you icon thingy showing which states you have been to ... how do you set that up on this forum?
Happy Trails,
Dennis & Nanci,

I also wanted to mention that I recently did a 'proposed' trip route out west (National Parks tour) ... showed it to my son-in-law (who has been a boy scout his whole life and is now 2 milliseconds from becoming a scout troop leader) ...
He commented on the route and added some very useful ideas, like, if you go just 50 miles west in Denver you have got to see this park, etc. He and my sweet daughter live in Atlanta (they met at Georgia Tech - two super smart kids) and he has traveled out west extensively with his parents, and now on his own. He knows most of the National Parks (where we want to go), like the back of his hand. So I felt like I struck gold from all his very helpful comments.
My wife is from the Catskills of NY and for the last several years we can gone up the east coast - so now it is time to 'go west, young man!" LOL
Here is our proposed route ... as the pic shows, the end point of the trip is San Antonio. That is only because I couldn't figure out how to get Google Maps to give me 'one more dang line' to bring us all the way back to the Baton Rouge area. - LOL (technology). I hope this link to Flickr works

Just thought I'd share,
Dennis

Welcome!
Welcome Dennis and Nancy from other newbies Ken and Kristine. We are still 4 years out from our goal of full timing. One of the biggies on my bucket list are all the parks west, so I was particularly interested in your map, but tells me marked "private" so unable to see.
We haven't settled on a particular RV but learning everyday and getting closer.
Welcome again and hope to get a peek at your map!
Kristine
