Newbie with nothing

Hello from the South. We don't own an RV yet, but I've begun my research of them and have enjoyed learning about them. Who knew there were so many types and varieties of these things!!! We will likely start off with a small travel trailer due to very limited parking space at our present home and the fact that I can pull it with my F150, but when we retire in a few years, we plan to move somewhere with a few acres. Then we'll probably get a mid-sized 5th wheel or a class C.

I'm looking forward to learning more from the wealth of knowledge that I know is here on iRV2.

Welcome to IRV2!

There's a vast amount of knowledge here to help you get started. If you haven't already found it there's a forum dedicated to travel trailers.

And one to towing.

Start your search in the used FSBO camper classifieds. Go at least two years old and try to stay in the 20' range. Since you plan to sell in a couple of years, don't worry about your dream floor plan. Instead look for condition and price. This is a bad year to buy since everyone decided to go RVing this year. Start you search now just to see what's out there but don't be afraid to wait until after the first of the year to get serious. My thinking is there may be a glut of gently used TTs on the market come spring. NADA RV guide is a good place to find what you should be paying.

I'd suggest renting an RV for a week or so.

You will soon discover a lot of things you need to know BEFORE you buy one.
