Newbies
Wife and I recently purchased our first motor-home, a 2007 Coachmen Mirada 330SL. We took our first "shakedown cruise" this weekend to a campground only 40 miles from our home to get familiar with the systems and do a few minor repairs. (The dealer has an agreement with the campground to introduce timeshares and the weekend was free with an additional $50 gas card). We bought it a year or two ahead of retirement since we thought it was a good deal.
I am a do-it-yourselfer and am interested in maintenance, modifications, and upgrades as well as "RV use training", locations and attractions, itineraries, and cost savings.
I have already modified our RV by removing and replacing the old "boat anchor" TV with a 32" flatscreen including cutting down the cabinet to a less obtrusive size and reinstalling. I also installed an XM radio antenna inside the front cap that works very well thru the fiberglass and will be linking the TV and XM audio to the driver radio via AUX input for a cheap speaker upgrade.
I need to get the engine and chassis serviced before our next planned trip (2 weeks) this summer. I will be doing all work myself including fluid changes, chassis lube, spark plugs if needed, etc. Any tips on problems with the, V10 Ford chassis, drive train, preventative maintenance, etc. are appreciated.

Recommend using 2 quart engine Oil filter if available and
Installing Fumoto Oil Pan Drain Valve https://images.search.yahoo.com/sear...+Plug&fr=aaplw to make life easier.
Over the years I have added over $20K in upgrades to my RV.
For comfortable driving and steering, I recommend the following Suspension upgrades: Safe T Plus (Lifetime Warrantee) steering stabilizer Which Unit Do I Need? | Safe-T-Plus - The Steering Control Specialists. UTube video shows DIY installation. Also recommend Front & Rear Anti-Sway Bars, and Rear Track Bar.
