Newbies Here From Central Texas

Good Morning,

A little bit of info about the hubs and myself. My husband just retired from the Army after 23 years and I haven't worked in about 2 years. We have always talked about RVing fulltime when we were ready to retire at an older age, however since my husband medically retired he is not able to work anymore. My parents were fulltime RVers for many years and living through them and their adventures is what made me want the same life. I have always been an outdoorsy and camping person.

My husband is apprehensive about selling everything and jumping in head first and becoming fulltimers, so we have agreed to take baby steps. We really want to start off with an older used model motorhome that may need a little work. He's a mechanic so that is a plus. Hopefully, after about a year or 2 he will decide this is the life for us fulltime. I will be posting with LOTS of questions! I have been browsing the forum for a few days and think it is great!

Welcome aboard. This is a marvelous resource to learn and ask questions. Don't be shy, because we all started at the same place. I'm in Georgetown (most of the time) so let me know if I can do anything to help you out.

And thank you to both you and your husband for his service. It is deeply appreciated.

Welcome from Spicewood, TX (Austin). Be patient. It is an enduring task to find the right one, but you will ultimately find it. The fact that the hubby is a mechanic is a huge plus for RVing.

We will be attending the upcoming RV shows....Hutto and Austin. If anyone in our area plans to go to either of these shows, would love to 'hook up'
