Talking Noobies from the Keystone State...

Hello all,

We have been enjoying your very informative FORUMS! I am looking forward to reading more!

Let me introduce ourselves a bit... my wife and I (fifty-ish years young) are both retired military, currently living near Gettysburg, PA.

I have thought of full-timing for the past 10-12 years. Only recently has the wife begun to embrace the idea. Our current goal is to go full time in three years (NLT Oct 2015). We have never RV'ed, or even spent a night at a commercial campground. We do have plans to go on a few short trips with our 5th wheeler friends to learn a bit and determine if we are completely crazy.

Of course we have a few contingencies. Such as selling our home, etc... My goal is to MAKE IT HAPPEN and be spending the winter of 2015 in a warmer climate!

We have some friends who have been full-time fifth-wheelers for about 8 years and we've visited a few RV shows...enough to decide, at this point, we think we want to purchase a used 40' or smaller DP MH (minimum 350 HP (like to have 400HP)) and a TOAD.

We have lots of questions, and lots of homework to do before we strikeout on this chapter of our lives, but we still have a bit of time to make that happen.
Thanks all,

Welcome to the community.

We just bought a 2010 Fleetwood Bounder 33U as an entry level motor home to spend 45-60 days a year for the next 2-3 years to see if we'd like to full time. Selling out a lifetime; lock, stock and barrel takes a bit of intestinal fortitude. We thought we'd try the lifestyle then decide if we're moving up to a larger coach and spending our lives on the move.

Question

Thanks for the kind words and welcomes...

Question.
Is there a quick and easy way to search for folks in the forum that have a specific RV - such as a Newmar or a Thor or whatever?

I'm considering a Newmar 4035 - 2007, its privately owned and the owner has died. So I really can't obtain much info from the previous owner. It would be really helpful to learn from other owners what I should be looking out for...

TIA for any advice.

Hover your mouse over the "Owners Forums" button in the light green title bar at the top of the page (under the campground picture). You'll see most major manufacturers...click on one to go to that section.

And welcome to the forum!
