NW Newbie

Greetings from Oregon. My wife, Diane, and I have a 2007 HR Neptune XL since 2017 and look forward to traveling every chance we can. A trip is c currently in the works to visit Utah soon. While working to get the rig ready for the elevated temps we expect to encounter on the road, we discovered that the dash air didn’t work. Many system leaks and as bad compressor. Leaks are fixed but need technical info on the compressor. It has no tags or labels on it. I think the previous owner made it in his garage with things with random spare parts. I’d like to replace it with something that has an identity. Thanks for letting me join you.

Welcome to iRV2 .

Most times the dash A/C compressor is installed on the motor either from the engine manufacturer or installed by the chassis builder .

So if you can add your engine make and series , and chassis builder info to your post maybe we can get you some info on a replacement,

It's a Cummins ISB 325 and the compressor is mounted on the front of the motor, just like the diagram I found in my handy dandy manual. I can't find anything that specifically tells me who built the chassis but it's a Holiday Rambler built by Monaco, so I'm going with that.

OK , if the mounting is like the picture below , and the A/C compressor is driven by the serpentine belt , then there's a good possibility it was installed by Cummins ; and if you have the engine serial number , then joining " Cummins Quick Serve " will get you a part number.

I found it! I managed to squeeze my camera (phone) between a couple of wire bundles, and pipes and got a photo of the compressor label. It's a Sanden U4306. I tried removing it but don't have the proper tools and quickly lost interest. So I decided that Diane is just going to have to hang her head out a window if it gets too hot; or, we can run the generator and use the roof air. Thanks for all the input. You folks are motivators, and you are appreciated.

I love you Senior Members and your willingness to help. I found your response helpful as well, thank you. We lived without dash AC on our old coach and used the generator and roof AC but it was not always comfortable. Travel Safe
